Are You Thinking What Iain is Thinking?

Scientific and objective? Who cares, look who came came top!* Guido was reluctant when Iain asked for a few hundred words for his Guide to UK Political Blogging, however when he said the Miliblogger was contributing - well you know how it is - so buy a dead-tree-copy or scrounge one off Dale at a party conference. Alternatively download it here and see for yourself the result. Guido assumed an earnest, caring social justice promoting blog would come top. Totty-watching must have even wider appeal than Guido originally imagined...

*Guido's blog was judged the #1 Non-Aligned Blog & the #1 UK Political Blog Overall. Notice that Guido was in the non-aligned category, not Tory, though this never seems to get through to some lazy journalists and a certain type of pro-regime apologist for New Labour's sleaze.

Notice that most of the lefty blogs were not Labour, also, although they were categorised as such. Also notice that MPs with crap blogs got on the list by default...

But you look like a Tory, sound like a Tory, have Tory views, and appear to do Tory party HQs bidding, so surely you are a Tory.

Don't be ashamed. Haven't you seen the polls? Lots of people are Tories these days.

I'm not a tory, I'm a libdem, but I still read Guido more regularly than any other blog because its the most interesting. And sure, there's a bit of a tory bias, but less than in (say) the Mail or Telegraph. Guido is known to be a tory but the angle that persists is anti-establishment/anti-nuLabour, and this blog's political sentiments are much less painful than either of the aforementioned paper news organs.

Guido, if you want lazy journos to label your blog as non-aligned, you must help them: put a label on the top of you blog saying 'non-aligned'. Don't expect them to work it out for themselves.

You have a good opportunity for doing this now that you can replace those dated Guardian awards with a new boast!

If Tory HQ is bidding, where is the cheque?

Guido's political philosophy and world view is summed up here.

Guido's libertarian, not Tory... believe me I wish the two were the same!
Can't imagine that many Tories being so deeply involved with the M25 orbital acid house parties, eh Guido? ;¬)

Poor Iain Dale. He'd love to be a Media Lovie but he has the head of an over-weight shaved warthog.

And he'd make a fortune selling advertising space on that forehead.

Still, I always have a good laugh when he reviews tha papers on late night TV - worthy, worthy, worthy - doesn't he know we like a bit a sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll at that time of night?

Guido a Tory? Wish it were so as in I wish the Tory party actually stood for personal freedom.

Eveyone's favourite pub bore, Chad Valley, hasn't got the message:

HOW DID A TORY BLOGGER WIN THE 'NON-ALIGNED' SECTION?

How did Tory blogger...win the 'non-aligned' section of Iain Dale's Top political blogs with his Guido Fawkes blog?

The guy is a Tory. He will even be blogging at the Tory conference.

Hmmmm...... I sense the blogstablishment via Mr Dale is seeking to be as misleading as the dead tree press.

It's not Parliament that...seeks to blow-up, but the Tory opposition. That is something entirely different.

Since Iain embarded on his burgeoning media career and gained inclusion on the A list, he's in danger of beoming a bit of a smug git.

Yeah, a couple of bloggers have questioned the inclusion of your humble Devil on the Non-aligned List too (No. 21 on the N-A and 57 on the overall: well, it made me happy)...

For me a blog should always offer an honest insight into a normal closed world.

And if you're an insider being totally honest then you really have to be annoymous.

Some of the best blogs have been done by ordinary police officers. Their daily frustrations are enlightening.

Whenever the establishment - political parties, Chief Constables etc. etc. etc. - have a go it's always going to be about Managing The News. We already have shedloads of that.

Nice one Guido....
Now - since the m25 raves are no more - there must be a way to get all of us together for a decent party :-)
How about Madchester 2006 for nulab or
Boringmouth in October for Dave's rave..
bit to late (this year) for the Mingers in B right on....

Peter Briffa wuz robbed. And one blogger who is celebrated far and wide in London for his lack of talent and wealth of self-deluded narcissism managed to rank ludicrously more highly than he deserved. I would love to know how these rankings were tabulated. (You obviously deserve the top spots you got, Guido.)

Iain`s Mother`s Diary was very popular on the radio several years ago,he`s just following the family tradition.

Guido, is that an actual cross-stitch flash? How fabulously retro!

And yeah, you're not at all Tory; you're patently undomesticated. But maybe you should think about getting a leftie on board, to put your blog past the reach of all such petty insults-like.

Very impressed with your political stance - and I totally agree! :)

now, ever thought about starting a political party?

Amusing for me is that we were on the Tory list! We are very libertine Tories that is for sure.

"now, ever thought about starting a political party?"

Or, more likely, persuading the Libertarian Alliance to turn itself into a party.

It's called a remainder. Expect to find it shortly at a remarkably low price in Tesco, followed by 25p copies in the charity shops.

The internet has spawned a new phenomenon - those with enough brains to be embarrassed to call themselves Tories now call themselves 'libertarians'.

Surely a blog's political leaning is shown by the comments it attracts. By that measure this is a tory blog - pure and simple.

Who are these 'certain' pro-regime apologists? I never see any here - all I see here are the people who moan about the lazy, wasteful, inefficient government - yet spend their workday spouting shite here and across the internet. Like Mr Hitchens, for example. It is a pattern repeated across the blogosphere.

Admit it Fawkes, this is Toryville-on-Thames.

That's a bit arrogant and egocentric for you Guido...and I'm disappointed in you...mind, it's a bit like saying that New Labour are top isn't it? But they spout shite and are a bunch of utter c**ts despite being top, os it not 'necessarily' something to shout about......ô¿ô

It's an interesting publication Guidoand will serve well to promote the interests and popularity of U.K. bloggers. I'm surprised that I made the list at all, but it now means that I'll have to double my efforts to keep Miliband in the news!

If you're not a Tory, why don't you reveal the secret shags of some of the shadow cabinet?

It surely can't be Labour ministers who are at it in Westminster.

Go on ... put your unaligned money where your mouth is and expose some of the top Tory shaggers.

Boris needs company.
