I voted Labour and even I know it's hopeless. I'm of the mind that Bob Neill *might* take a hit off the back of this 'three jobs' nonsense that's been peddled (mostly by the Lib Dems and UKIP), but to the tune of however many thousand votes Forth's majority was? Give me a break.
Make me a two way market then we'll start talking. Or are you just trying to take a quick turn of some lib-dims (in which case I'll keep quiet in return for a piece).
We ain't gonna win it. Look at libdemblogs.co.uk - it was all fired up and bustling at the time of Dunfermline. Today there's virtually nothing about Bromley and Chiselhurst. We know it's a Tory walkover, and you do too.
The Tories held. The LibDems will claim a triumph but we all know that at any other time in the past 15 years their scumbag campaigners array of bar charts, faked exit polls, personal slurs and other low-life tactics would have seen a Limp Dem win.
When was the last time that the Tories managed to hold off a Liberal challenge to hold such a seat? 1993? 1994?
Cameron will be happy. Do not tell Mark Oathen but Ming will be shitting himself
rememberrinka The Tories held off a Liberal challenge in the Hove by-election in 1973 but then the Tories were in government. To nearly lose one of the safest Tory seats is not something to be happy about. A lot of people will not forget the vicious Tory policies of the 1980s.On yer bike rinka!
We've seen resulrs like Bromley before, in a supersafe seat where all the incumbent-party voters expect someone else to go out and vote because they expect to win comfortably. The Lib Dems only gained 1600 votes on the general election when there were 20000 potential recruits from Lab and Tory. The Tories will be disappointed that they didn't get the vote out, sure, but the really disappointed people will be the Lib Dems because they came close to a massive upset, but if you look at the numbers it is clear that in this case a miss is as good as a mile. And that despite the usual questionable tactics.
This by-election thing cracks me up - MP's wonder why people like moi get pissed off. The war of spin that has erupted is redicoulous. I note that the Lib dems are all but calling there candidate a moral victory. How can putting on 1500 votes from a collapsing labour vote on alow turn out and failing to secure the seat be a spectacular result?
Absolute rot!
Then their is thing about this being cameron's candidate - he was not on the A-list and frankly if a pompus prick like him can still win when the main rivals has the cheeky girls on board then god help us!!! How this can be seen as a set back for cameron i don't know - the tories fielded a true by-election with very little central organisation help.
I was cheered by the result in Blaunu Gwent - need more independent MP's commited to the views that their electors which to be represented, whether this is capitialism, socialism, fasicm, neo-nazis or coummunism who cares. The people are right not the puffed up wankers who protest against others freedom of expression.

Wot not winning here?
More chance of Bud Abbot winning here.

May we know how much money these financial hemmings have donated to Guido's pension fund?
3-1? Bag of Shite. You can get 11-1 at Betfair.

Betfair is illiquid - if you want to get more than a tenner done...
Hayek's Grandad,
4 /40 in a grand. How ya left?
The Tories are in the final furlong and the others haven't started yet. No wonder the market is illiquid at 3-1 (or 11-1 or even 50-1).
Your having my face off. I could get all of Ken's bendy buses through that spread.
What do you want to do, of course you could offer me a tighter spread.
Switch to email if you want to deal.
what odds on a UKIP win Guido ?
100/1 - how much you want?
What odds on a second-world-war bomber being found on the moon? 33-1?

Is a 641 majority a Tory walkover?
What a Tory twat.

Mike Smithson on PB is spot on.
So Toryland's 4th Safest seat is now a Key Marginal and Blairilla's 5th Safest Seat is now a lost cause.
This is progress - maybe we can get rid of these two Daz-Parties at long last and have Independents take over
Recount. 633 majority.

Well the Lib Dems came from 13000 votes behind the Tories to 600 - so that is a bit of a result.
Just seen Neill's speech - what a graceless little tit.
anon
If history repeats itself then the Lib Dems will go on to win other by-elections.
Tories won the penalty shoot out.
Neil may have been graceless, but he was speaking the truth. What's wrong with that !
Is Guido paying Hemmline?--or is Hemmline paying Guido?!!!
