Euan Pissed Again

Euan is having fun in Washington and Guido is growing in respect for Tony's playboy son. However, when out drinking this weekend he had to apologise to staff after being caught trying to set fire to the underside of his bar-table with candles. "Look, I'm a straight kinda boy"... Do they have ASBOs in Washington?

He was in Washington's Madam's Organ bar (rated one of the best in America by Playboy magazine). He spent the evening ogling cowgirl-costumed girls dancing on the bar-top Coyote Ugly style. Euan stumbled into a taxi later having failed to pull.

Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt the boy Blair staying at our expence in the British Embassy Washington?
Why is nobody complaining?

I really rather vexing! Why does Euan Blair seem to have a much more fun life than me? He’s a bloody intern for a US senior congressman and living it up in DC! Where’s the justice in this world!

As a sometime frequenter of said bar (the name a pun on the DC district of Adams Morgan) I can tell you that it's merely the place for the more liberal staffers from the Hill to hang out, especially those intimidated by the jock haunts of Georgetown.

It's the kind of place Joe Lieberman would be comfortable in so Blair Jr wouldn't look at all out of place. In fact, he could take his pa there.

"Do they have ASBOs in Washington?"

No. People carry guns instead.

Very breast-orientated today Guido.

Could he get a travel ban and have his passport confiscated a la football hooligans?

Croydonian said...

Those Blairlets do make life difficult for T&C, don't they? What with inebriated Euan and, ssshhh, Kathryn....

Presumably Leo keeps them awake at night in a more literal sense but what about the fourth member of their brood?

Guns are banned in Washington DC, anonymous. Despite which breach of the second amendment there are still around 200 homicides a year.

What's the Kathryn story?

Chrisco said...

Unless the law has changed in the past couple of years, guns are not actually illegal in Washington D.C. - rifles and shotguns are legal and may be bought from registered gun dealers after obtaining a certificate of registration from the police. Handguns are, on the other hand, illegal.

I live 200 yards from Madam's Organ and really can't picture Joe Lieberman in there on a Saturday night, or anywhere on 18th Street for that matter, unless he was in desperate need of a jumbo pizza slice...

As for the young Blair, I'll keep an eye out for him. Anyone know if he likes pizza?

Dont lets drag up the Kathryn story again - its just not the done thing.

And i mean it! This isnt the kind of thing that has any place in the public sphere.

Oh god, now I HAVE to know.

It must be said, Madam's Organ or no, Washington is the kind of place that's so straightlaced even the vibrators have pinstripes. Monica Lewinsky's prize exhibit was a navy blue dress from The Gap. Hardly Folies Bergere material: the same could be said of the woman herself.

Chrisco handguns are not illegal in DC , however, they must have been possessed and registered prior to the 1976 ban, moves are afoot to overturn this idiocy, and rightly so.

Here's a nice parliamentary question for someone:

"Can the prime Minister confirm that his son, Euan, is being accomodated at the British Embassy during his internship at the US Congressand, if so, how much the prime Minister is paying per week for this privilege?"

chrisco said...

But it is illegal to carry handguns, not that that gives me much comfort.

The fewer handguns in D.C. not in hands of the police the better as far as I am concerned.

No0wet me get this straight:

Grandson of the Queen gets pissed in a pub and goes home = front page news.

Son of Prime Minister gets pissed in pub, tries to burn it down and then staggers back to his free B&B at the embassy = not a squeek.

Double standards in the MSM? Of course not.

Guido does not believe that Euan is lodging with the embassy.

David Chappell said...

You're right Guido, the Washington Post on 24 Feb 2006 reported:

"Meanwhile, he's living with other young politicos close to his age at the University of California's Washington center, a heavily secured residence hall and classroom space on Scott Circle where UC students say he's doing his best to blend in and downplay his famous name."

The (Loyal) Remittance Man said...

Maybe he's not leeching free room and board from the FCO, but I still stand by the charge of double standards in the MSM.

And for the record, yes, I am a monarchist, but that's not what's got me cross about this.

If Eeuan is not lodging at the embassy , how come he trips over visting tories at breakfast there?

David Chappell said...

p-u-p, think you'll find it was dinns. Besides, I shouldn't think his hangover would be able to face breakfast.

the popes under pants said...

ok
WTF was he doing having dinner at our expence?
He is a spotty youth wandering the world aimlessly until his dad finds him a job, probably one that involves you and I paying his salary.

Seriously, though... what's the kathryn story???

the popes under pants said...

she tried to kill herself simon
an overdose

Simon said...

Er... thanks, Pope's 'pants!

chrisco said...

I think it would be unnecessarily crude to repeat the story here, particularly as it relates to the health of someone who was a minor at the time.

You've clearly got internet access Simon - a bit of googling will show up the answers.

chrisco said...

OK, apparently the pope's pants thinks it is ok.

Tsk, tsk...

Simon said...

Sorry for dredging that back up again.

Are there pictures of these Cowgirl-costumed girls?

"Where the beautiful people go to get ugly". Apparently. Methinks that phrase could be used in other contexts.
